YOUTH COMMITTEE

The Young Fur Traders Committee [YFTC] was set up in September 2008 as part of IFTF’s commitment to the future development and promotion of the International Fur Trade. The aim of the Committee is to act as a forum for the younger members of the fur trade by providing them with the opportunity to give their feedback on selected trade issues.

The Committee is made up of members from North America, Europe and the Far East. They keep in touch via e-mail and telephone and through informal meetings.  They also meet formally once a year at the time of the IFTF’s Annual General Meeting.

The Members have been exchanging ideas on how to communicate with the younger consumer, and are currently investigating new ways to promote fur using new media. Other areas of interest include the fur retail environment and information about fur fashion and the fur trade in schools and colleges.
