IFTF - Celebrating A 50 Year History
To celebrate its 50th Anniversary, the International Fur Trade Federation (IFTF) is proud to have sponsored a major art and fashion exhibition on Fur - Further Fantasy - launched at the Galleria Marconi in Milan during the Milano Collezioni in February 1999.

Organised by Vogue Italia, the exhibition brought together the work of 18 leading international fashion designers and several celebrated contemporary artists, each contributing their own unique interpretation of fur.

"The result is totally original and the best possible way to celebrate our 50th Anniversary," said L Boe Hansen, Chairman of the 1997-1999 Executive Board of the International Fur Trade Federation. "The whole exhibition symbolises the dramatic changes which have occurred within our industry in recent years. With a new attitude and technological development, the trade has placed itself at the forefront of what is new and innovative in fashion."

"It is no coincidence that so many top designers worldwide are now working in fur and that contemporary artists are also attracted by its fascinating qualities," he added. "The trade may have a long history stretching back through the centuries but, today, fur is young and modern, and fits perfectly into contemporary lifestyles."
